To make a true impact on the red carpet

Okay, so we know the past 12 months haven’t exactly allowed for many opportunities to get your heels out. But that’s about to change. Who said you need an actual red carpet to get dressed up? We asked our glam Guest Editor, Lungile, to let us in on her secrets to pulling off any red carpet-inspired look with ease. And, of course, she’s added touches of red to refine each look.

One-shoulder velvet gown

I chose this dazzling red number because every red-carpet event brings the opportunity for drama and it flatters the body beautifully thanks to the ruched waist. I kept the accessories simple and chose emerald costume jewellery – I wanted the dress to shine.

Gold princess-cut gown

Every girl should experience a Cinderella moment at least once in her lifetime and this stunning gown made me feel like a princess. Sequenced beading placed strategically on the fabric catches the light beautifully as you move – it’s truly mesmerising! I completed the look with dropped diamond earrings and a bold red lip for a flash of colour.

Playful short tulle gown

I love having fun with fashion and opting for a playful tulle piece is a surefire way to grab attention. I kept things fun and flirty, and chose to pair the dress with heeled sandals, statement stud earrings and gold rings.

Lastly, remember…

To make a true impact on the red carpet requires complete commitment – everything must go together in terms of styling, hair and makeup.
